にじまるが一番力を入れている稲作。田んぼ大好きだから夢中で頑張れる。春に種もみを浸水するところから始まり、種まき、田植え、田ぐるま押し、で、稲刈り、稲架掛け、脱穀、籾摺り、そしてやっと食べられる。なんでこんな大変なことをわざわざやってるかっていうと、まあ楽しいからですよね〜

すぐ近所の製材所の方が敷地にフジバカマを植えてアサギマダラが飛んでくるのを待っていたんだけど、正直、こんだけ小さい面積で来るわけないって思っていたら、4羽も飛んで来ていてビツクリ。

無農薬の田んぼの何が大変って、やはり除草作業、これに尽きるのではないでしょうか。うちの田んぼたちは無農薬６年目ですが、だんだん草が生えなくなってきています。うきさとの池添友一くんも同じこと言っていたな。

2019年度からにじまる農園で栽培を始める真菰（マコモ）。もちろん無施肥・無農薬栽培です。その田植えをやりました。条間1.5m間隔に紐を張って株間1.5mで苗を植えていきます。改造したサーフボードに苗を乗せて浮かせて引っ張って移動します。楽チン♪この小さい苗が秋には二メートルを超えるらしいです。成長が楽しみです。
